Raphaël Hannaert

Raphael joined the blockchain space in 2017, when he interned at the Bitcoin Center of Korea, one of the early blockchain incubators in Asia. At that time, South Korea was leading the crypto activity, accounting for more than 50% of the global trading volume. He then completed his engineering master thesis on blockchain-based data marketplaces in 2018 at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft).

From 2019 to mid-2022, Raphael worked as an associate at Mckinsey & Company, based in Belgium and South-East Asia. He drove adoption of blockchain and digital assets for financial institutions: he advised banks and capital market companies on their blockchain strategy, and conducted multiple due diligences on Web3 projects for funds.

Raphael joined Tioga Capital in June 2022 as an associate, operating mainly from Brussels and Lisbon. His Web3 interests include Blockchain Infrastructure (layer 1 & 2, oracles, middleware), Web3 Social, NFTs, Digital Identity, and DAOs.
